Maine Lightning Soccer strives to produce a family-friendly environment in which all players can learn, develop, compete, and have fun.
- We offer a multi-sport club for both multi-sport athletes & singularly focused athletes
- We have a proven staff of experienced teacher/coaches who will focus on player development
- We support town travel and families will aim to minimize travel, especially before high school
- We will offer training at multiple levels of athletes five to eighteen & have access to Edge Academy opportunities, including SAQ training, strength training, college counseling & connections, & more!
An overview of MLS programming:
Outline of the year:
- Fall (Sept, Oct) – skill training sessions including SAQ, injury prevention, & futsal to stay connected with teammates from other towns. We do not want to have any conflicts with town teams, so these are optional.
- Winter (November through early April) – train twice a week – one futsal session and one team training session each week. Potential Futsal League/Indoor scrimmages.
- Spring (Mid-April, May, June) – practice twice a week and play weekend games in the Maine State Premier League. Play in tournaments (one to three) with The Father’s Day Tournament in June, serving as the season finale.
- Extra events are possible per team
